Alleged Abuse of Prisoner: Nine Israeli Soldiers Arrested

After a suspected case of prisoner abuse in an Israeli detention camp for Palestinians, the military has arrested several soldiers and launched an investigation. The incident took place in the Sde Teiman detention facility, and the detainee in question is believed to be a Palestinian who was allegedly mistreated by the soldiers.

Following the soldiers' arrest, a significant number of people stormed the camp in the Negev Desert, with some managing to enter the facility. Israel's army chief strongly criticized the actions, stating that entering a military base and disrupting its order is unacceptable and poses a threat to the country's security.

The Sde Teiman detention camp was established to hold Palestinians from the Gaza Strip following the start of the conflict between Israel and Hamas on October 7. Since then, there have been numerous reports of abuse during detention, highlighted by the United Nations, human rights lawyers, Hamas-controlled authorities, and former prisoners.

Amnesty International has called on Israel to end the indefinite detention of Palestinians from Gaza and the alleged rampant torture in Israeli prisons. The ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip, triggered by the Hamas attack on Israel, has resulted in significant casualties, with differing figures provided by Israel and Hamas.
