SpaceX Shifts Dragon Capsule Landings to California Due to Debris Concerns
SpaceX will relocate Dragon capsule splashdowns from Florida to California because of debris worries associated with the discarded trunk section. Debris from both cargo and crew versions has been discovered in various locations, prompting the change to ensure safer landings.
The trunk will now detach after the deorbit burn, allowing the capsule to land in the Pacific Ocean. With one recovery vessel reassigned to the Pacific, Dragons will be brought back to Florida for subsequent launches.
Future missions like Crew-9, Axiom-3, Crew-8, Polaris Dawn, Axiom 4, and Crew-10 are on the horizon.
