Spotify Boosts Lyrics Access for Free Users

Spotify has responded to user complaints by increasing the monthly limit for free users to access song lyrics. This change, set to roll out globally in the coming weeks, aims to enhance user experience.

Previously, free users were restricted to just 3 lyrics a month in an effort to drive premium subscriptions. Despite testing a lyrics paywall in September 2023, the impact on paid subscriptions was minimal.

As of Q2 2024, Spotify boasts 626 million active monthly users, including 246 million premium subscribers. The decision to expand lyrics access aligns with Spotify's commitment to continuously improve features and cater to user feedback, receiving positive reactions on social media platforms like Twitter.
