Ukraine: Kyiv Speaks of Fierce Russian Attacks on the Eastern Front
The Ukrainian armed forces have announced multiple Russian attacks on the fronts of Toretsk and Pokrovsk. Moscow claimed to have captured the community of New York, but this is yet to be verified.
Ukrainian forces successfully repelled 49 attacks on the front in Pokrovsk. In Zaporizhia, a Russian shell hit a kiosk near a playground, resulting in one death and four injuries.
Russian troops have occupied parts of the Zaporizhia region since the start of the invasion. In response, Ukraine launched drone and missile attacks on Moscow, Bryansk, Tula, and Rostov regions.
Air defenses intercepted and destroyed several drones, and there were no reported casualties or damage. Ukraine's goal with these attacks is to destroy infrastructure crucial for Russia's war efforts.
The situation in Pokrovsk is particularly tense, with reports of Russian forces advancing towards the city. Ukraine's campaign of drone attacks on Russia continues, targeting key infrastructure.
