Ukraine Asks USA for Permission to Attack Russia
Ukraine has requested permission from the USA to launch attacks on Russian military targets. In recent developments, the Ukrainian Air Force intercepted 12 Russian drones, while Russia fired 18 drones and an Iskander-M missile at Ukraine.
The Chief of Staff of President Zelensky participated in a meeting with the US Secretary of Defense. Ukraine plans to present a list of potential targets in Russia, including command centers, airfields, ammunition depots, and barracks.
The USA has so far limited the use of weapons to defend against the Russian offensive. Ukraine hopes that by attacking these targets, they can repel Russia and defend their territory.
The situation in the border regions of Sumy and Poltava remains tense, with overnight attacks causing damage to facilities and injuring civilians. EU's top diplomat, Josep Borrell, has called for lifting restrictions on weapons provided to Ukraine.
