Volkswagen's Cost-Cutting Initiative: Consulting Offer Commences in October
Volkswagen is set to launch the Perspektivwerkstatt (Perspective Workshop) in October, intensifying its focus on cost-saving measures. The program targets reductions in material costs, fixed expenses, and severance payments.
The initiative includes consulting for employees on new opportunities, with external advisors at all German locations. Measures like scrapping inflation bonuses, dismissing temporary workers, and eliminating shifts aim to bridge a 2-3 billion euro gap in profit improvement.
Despite an 11% drop in earnings from the previous year, the company assures no layoffs due to operational reasons, as reported in the Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung.
