US Justice Department Charges Russians for Cyber Attack on Ukraine
The US Justice Department has brought charges against several members of the Russian military intelligence service GRU who are alleged to have carried out a cyber attack on Ukraine in January 2022. The United Kingdom is delivering 650 air defense missiles to Ukraine.
According to Russian reports, the Ukrainian armed forces have shelled the Russian border town of Schebekino, damaging 15 private homes and a factory roof. CDU defense policy expert Johann Wadephul is calling on the German government to provide further assistance to Ukraine.
The meeting of the Ukraine Contact Group is taking place at the US Air Force base in Ramstein, where the US is currently unable to make further commitments due to the election campaign. Chancellor Scholz is meeting with Ukrainian President Zelenskyy, and representatives of the Council of Europe are discussing how Russia could be held accountable for its war of aggression.
