Zelenskyy's Visit to Ramstein: Ukraine Receives Military Aid Against Russia
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made an unusual visit to the US airbase Ramstein, seeking further Western assistance in the war against Russia. Germany has pledged to deliver 12 additional howitzers, while the USA will provide ammunition, artillery, and air defense systems.
In the ongoing conflict in the Donbas region, the Ukrainian army has managed to recapture a part of New York. Zelenskyy also held meetings with German Finance Minister Olaf Scholz and Italian politician Giorgia Meloni, where the EU announced plans to allocate 40 million euros for infrastructure development in Ukraine.
Defense ministers also convened in the Ramstein format to discuss military aid and Russian attacks on energy infrastructure. Romania and the UK have joined efforts to strengthen Ukraine's air defense, with Romania providing a Patriot missile defense system and the UK supplying Thales-made missiles.
The EU, under the leadership of Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, has also promised winter aid totaling 966 million euros, including the delivery of the Iris-T air defense system and Gepard anti-aircraft tanks by the German government.
