AfD's Unsuccessful Talks with BSW and CDU
The Thuringian AfD, after becoming the strongest force in Erfurt, has reached out to the Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance (BSW) and CDU for talks on government formation, but their invitations have been unsuccessful so far. The AfD, with its far-right member Björn Höcke, is isolated as no party in the state parliament wants to work with them.
It is considered unlikely for the AfD, classified as securely right-wing extremist, to participate in the government. In Brandenburg, CDU, SPD, and BSW plan to strengthen the police and justice system, while the AfD and CDU advocate for the strict deportation of rejected asylum seekers.
In a talk show, Sahra Wagenknecht, founder of BSW, faced criticism for her statements about Olaf Scholz and the planned deployment of US missiles in Germany. The FDP in Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg has also proposed an AfD ban, considering them as a right-wing radical and fascist party.
In Michendorf, the AfD has minimal success in the state election despite opposition from the local community.
