Whale Penis Discovery on Bornholm Island

A remarkable discovery occurred on Bornholm when a 1.5-meter-long whale penis washed ashore near Snogebæk. Initially mistaken for a sea snake, the organ is believed to belong to a deceased male humpback whale found earlier this summer at Dueodde.

During routine cleaning operations, the unusual find was brought to the NatureBornholm Experience Center for further examination. Experts, including whale researchers, are now tasked with determining its future.

For the time being, the whale penis will be preserved in a freezer. This rare specimen not only sparks curiosity but also provides an opportunity to confirm the gender of the humpback whale.
