President Joe Biden has announced a substantial new military aid package for Ukraine, totaling nearly $8 billion. This assistance includes long-range missiles, Patriot air defense systems, and expanded training programs for F-16 pilots.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, expressing gratitude, emphasized that this support is crucial for Ukraine's victory and lasting peace. Biden's commitment also includes convening a high-level meeting in Germany to coordinate efforts among over 50 supporting countries, reinforcing transatlantic security.

Concurrently, Germany has pledged an additional €170 million to help restore Ukraine's energy infrastructure damaged by Russian strikes. As Ukraine continues to face severe attacks, including the use of Kinzhal missiles and drones by Russia, Zelenskyy aims to present his comprehensive 'victory plan' during his visit to Washington.

He seeks more decisive actions and swift decisions from international partners, highlighting the urgent need for robust military support. The European Union has condemned Russia's new nuclear weapons doctrine, while China's Foreign Minister has offered additional assistance to Ukraine.

The US and NATO have expressed concerns over Russia's potential development of long-range drones in collaboration with China. Amidst these developments, former US President Donald Trump has criticized Zelenskyy for not negotiating with Moscow.

Nonetheless, Biden's latest aid package reaffirms the US's unwavering support for Ukraine's defense and underscores the broader geopolitical commitment to counter Russian aggression.

Zelensky angling for US troops in Ukraine

Politics
Zelensky believes Putin can be overthrown, citing the cases of Yevgeny Prigozhin and Alexei Navalny, but neither succeeded. The real internal threat in Russia seems to be from terror groups, including those linked to ISIS-K in Khorasan province, who have carried out attacks on Russian targets. Zelensky's hopes of replacing Putin or putting him on trial are seen as political theater, and the Biden-Harris administration's support for his approach could invite a Russian nuclear response if Putin..
