Cyber Attack Targets AFP Delivery Platform
On Friday, September 27, 2024, the AFP delivery platform, responsible for distributing SID content, became the target of a cyber attack. Investigations are still ongoing to determine the extent of the breach.
Despite the attack, all systems remain fully operational. However, there is a possibility that the (S)FTP access credentials for AFP/SID content delivery may have been compromised.
Customers using (S)FTP for content delivery are urged to contact technik.deu@afp.com to update their access credentials promptly. Those receiving services via satellite are unaffected, provided they do not also use (S)FTP.
AFP's technical support is available around the clock to assist customers during this period. This incident is part of a broader pattern of cyber attacks affecting various French institutions, with some attributed to Russian involvement.
Similar attacks in March targeted several ministries and government entities in France. The AFP continues to work with the national information security authority, ANSSI, to address the issue and will provide updates as the investigation progresses.
