His campaign capitalized on public discontent over migration and economic issues, promoting the concept of 'remigration' and positioning himself as a 'Volkskanzler,' a controversial term historically linked to Adolf Hitler.
Despite their electoral success, the FPÖ faces challenges in forming a government. Chancellor Karl Nehammer of the ÖVP has ruled out a coalition with Kickl. Other parties, including the SPÖ, have also expressed reluctance to partner with the FPÖ. This leaves the future government formation in a state of uncertainty, with potential coalitions still unclear.
