Continued Clashes Between Israel and Hezbollah After Nasrallah's Death

Following the assassination of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, both Israel and the Lebanese militia have affirmed their resolve to continue fighting. Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant emphasized that Nasrallah's elimination is a significant step but not the final one.

Hezbollah's deputy leader, Naim Kassem, declared the group's readiness for a ground confrontation and pledged to sustain their fight against Israel in support of Gaza. The German military has dispatched an aircraft to evacuate embassy staff from Lebanon, reflecting the escalating tension in the region.

Gallant also mentioned that Israel would utilize all necessary means, including air, naval, and ground forces, to ensure the security of its northern communities. Kassem highlighted Hezbollah's preparedness for any scenario, including direct confrontation with the Israeli army.

He underscored the group's commitment to continue its battle against Israel, supporting the Gaza Strip, and announced that a new leader would be appointed soon. Nasrallah, along with several senior Hezbollah figures, was killed in an Israeli airstrike in southern Beirut.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken remarked that the world is safer without Nasrallah but reiterated that diplomacy remains the best path to achieving stability in the Middle East. Nearly a year after the conflict in Gaza began, the Israeli military has shifted its focus to Lebanon, conducting extensive airstrikes targeting high-ranking Hezbollah commanders, infrastructure, and weapon depots.

Recent days have witnessed increased Hezbollah shelling on Israel from Lebanon. Additionally, the Israeli army struck a residential building in central Beirut, killing three members of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, including their military security chief Mohammad Abdel-Aal.

The Israeli army also announced the killing of the top Hamas representative in Lebanon, Fatah Sharif, who coordinated Hamas activities with Hezbollah. The German government has urged its citizens to leave Lebanon, given the intensified Israeli airstrikes.

Currently, around 1,800 Germans remain in Lebanon. The conflict shows no signs of abating, with both sides gearing up for further clashes.
