Hanau's Firefighting Revolution with Robotic Assistance

The Hanau Fire Department has introduced the 'Magirus Wolf R1,' a cutting-edge firefighting robot aimed at tackling forest fires and other challenging emergencies. Supported by drones, this robot can be remotely operated from up to two kilometers away.

It sprays up to 2,500 liters of water per minute and is designed to navigate hazardous zones like dense forests and underground garages. Hessian Interior Minister Roman Poseck and City Councillor Isabelle Hemsley highlighted the robot's role in minimizing risks to firefighters' health.

The initiative underscores the increasing reliance on advanced technology to combat the growing threats posed by climate change. Hanau's pioneering efforts, backed by a special robotics unit, mark a significant step forward in modern firefighting.
