Injured Pigeon Causes Emergency Services Chaos in Munich

An animal welfare activist in Munich caused a significant disturbance for emergency services over several hours due to an injured pigeon. After seeing the pigeon enter an S-Bahn tunnel near Hackerbrücke, she repeatedly contacted authorities on Friday afternoon.

Prevented from accessing the tracks herself, she occupied the time of Deutsche Bahn, the Federal Police, and the Munich Fire Department, disrupting their operations. Consequently, she received a ban from the main train station and was warned about the misuse of emergency calls.

Despite the chaos, the pigeon was eventually rescued early Saturday morning when train services were suspended. Employees of the railway retrieved the bird and returned it to the activist.

She has since announced intentions to file charges for violation of the Animal Welfare Act, further complicating the matter.
