Princess Leonor Honors Global Achievements

In Oviedo, Spanish Crown Princess Leonor presided over the prestigious Princess of Asturias Awards, celebrating distinguished contributions across eight categories. The gala recognized twelve remarkable individuals and entities, including acclaimed comic artist Marjane Satrapi, historian Michael Ignatieff, and the iconic Magnum photo agency.

Singer-songwriter Joan Manuel Serrat and writer Ana Blandiana were also among the honorees, receiving 50,000 euros and a Joan Miró statue replica. This year, the awards further honored badminton champion Carolina Marín and the Organization of Ibero-American States for their inspiring contributions.

The event, marked by a vibrant cultural parade, highlighted Leonor's emerging role and symbolized hope amidst global challenges.
