The recent postal law reform permits slower delivery times, a change that many citizens appear willing to accept. As the volume of letters decreases, the parcel business is flourishing, leading to increased postage rates.

Despite the growing reliance on parcels, quality issues have sparked numerous complaints about postal services. According to a Forsa survey, consumers expect 95% of letters to be delivered within three working days starting in 2024. Interestingly, while the reliability of Deutsche Post is viewed with mixed opinions, a significant portion of the population remains satisfied with their services.

The distinction between letters and parcels is increasingly blurred, marking a significant evolution in the postal landscape.
