The temperatures are predicted to plummet near or below freezing, with Alpine regions experiencing lows of minus 10 degrees Celsius. As the cold front advances, residents in northern and central Germany should prepare for icy conditions, including sleet and wet snow. Despite the harsh start, a dramatic weather shift is anticipated over the weekend. By Sunday, temperatures in some areas could rise as high as 15 degrees Celsius, offering brief respite from the winter chill. However, this warming will be accompanied by rain and potential winter thunderstorms, particularly in the southwest.
