The powerful Storm Darragh has left a significant impact across the United Kingdom and Ireland, resulting in one fatality and widespread disruptions. Authorities reported that a man tragically lost his life when a tree fell onto his vehicle near Preston. The storm prompted the Met Office to issue a red weather warning, indicating severe conditions expected to pose a threat to life.

In response, emergency alerts were sent to three million households in Wales and southwestern England, warning of potential dangers from high winds and advising people to stay indoors. The severe weather has led to massive power outages, affecting 86,000 homes in England, Scotland, and Wales, along with 45,000 in Northern Ireland.
