Despite the heightened costs, only a select few items, notably an expensive organic salmon and a budget-friendly option from Aldi, stood out for their quality. Most other offerings, including wild and vegan alternatives, failed to impress.

Furthermore, the tests found no traces of critical environmental pollutants, such as heavy metals or polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, which is a relief for consumers. However, some products were found contaminated with bacteria, and in one case, a salmon sample was deemed 'poor.' While salmon is known for its beneficial omega-3 fatty acids, it also contains high levels of salt, prompting consumers to be cautious when purchasing.
