Arrest in High-Profile Moscow Assassination

Russian investigators have apprehended a suspect in connection with the assassination of General Igor Kirillow in Moscow. The suspect, a 1995-born Uzbek national, reportedly confessed to being recruited by Ukrainian special forces. General Kirillow, responsible for defending against nuclear, biological, and chemical threats, was killed alongside his assistant, Ilya Polikarpov. The attack occurred when an explosive device attached to an electric scooter detonated as they exited a residential building.

The Ukrainian intelligence agency, SBU, claimed responsibility for the attack. Authorities revealed that the suspect was promised $100,000 and potential relocation to a European country for executing the assassination. Surveillance footage captured the incident, broadcasting it live to orchestrators in Dnipro, Ukraine.

The Russian news agency reported that the suspect traveled to Moscow specifically for this mission. Investigators identified two suspects through cameras at the crime scene, indicating meticulous planning.
