The recent spread of avian flu, particularly the H5N1 strain, has raised alarms in several regions, with notable outbreaks reported in both animals and humans. In Baden-Württemberg, Germany, the virus was detected in a dead stork, prompting plans for strict measures to prevent further spread among poultry. Health officials emphasize the importance of avoiding contact between wild and domestic birds and maintaining strict hygiene practices. In the United States, a severe case of H5N1 emerged in Louisiana, marking the first such incident in the country. This case was linked to contact with infected birds, underscoring the virus's potential threat to humans. Since April, 61 human cases have been reported, mostly with mild symptoms, indicating a low risk of human-to-human transmission so far.
