Navigating Disclosure of Chronic Illness at Work

Prof. Mathilde Niehaus and Jana Bauer from the University of Cologne have introduced an online platform, "Sag ich's?", designed to assist individuals in deciding whether to disclose a chronic illness in the workplace. This free self-test evaluates personal circumstances, desires, and values, including factors like disability status, stigma, relationships with supervisors, and team dynamics.

It aims to facilitate informed decision-making. Living with a chronic illness can complicate daily work life, and disclosure may yield both support and negative reactions.

Therefore, preparation is essential. Those affected are encouraged to understand their rights and seek advice from self-help groups or workplace resources.
