Stormy Weather Ushers in Festive Season

As the festive season approaches, Germany braces itself for a spell of unpredictable weather. Berlin and Brandenburg are set to experience stormy conditions accompanied by mild temperatures, with gusty winds and intermittent rain expected. Maximum temperatures will range between 11 and 14 degrees, while the nights will cool down to between 4 and 6 degrees.

The fourth Advent weekend will usher in more clouds and rain, with brief stormy gusts anticipated. Although the wind is expected to subside by Friday afternoon, the weekend will remain predominantly grey and wet. The northern and western regions, including North Rhine-Westphalia and Bremen, will see strong winds and occasional snowfall in higher altitudes, creating potential for hazardous driving conditions.

As Christmas approaches, the polar air will bring a chill to the southern regions, with potential for snow in areas such as the Alps and Eifel. However, widespread snowfall remains unlikely. Looking ahead, Meteorologists warn of a potentially dangerous storm situation around New Year's, with gusts reaching up to 120 km/h, posing a risk to outdoor celebrations. Despite the turbulent weather, mild temperatures may prevail, reducing the chance of a white year-end.
