The latest unemployment figures reveal a troubling trend across various regions. In Hesse, the anticipated recovery in the labor market has not occurred, with November's unemployment remaining at 5.5 percent.

This figure reflects an increase of nearly 11,000 compared to the previous year. Similarly, Saarland reported a rise in unemployment, with 37,200 individuals jobless in November, equating to a 7.0 percent rate, up from 6.7 percent for the entire year of 2023. The situation in Baden-Württemberg also showed a concerning uptick, with 271,658 unemployed in November and a slightly improved rate of 4.0 percent in December.
