Germany braces for severe weather as meteorologists warn of black ice and snow, particularly in Berlin and Brandenburg. Up to 5 cm of snow is anticipated, transitioning into freezing rain, creating hazardous conditions on roads and sidewalks. These elements have already caused significant disruptions at BER Airport, resulting in numerous flight cancellations and delays, with Lufthansa flights heavily affected.

The impending weather system is part of a larger winter storm affecting much of Germany. In the southwest and mountainous regions, ice rain and snow chaos are expected, prompting authorities to issue nationwide warnings.
