Pro-Palestinian Protest Occupies Berlin University Lecture Hall

On Monday, students occupied a lecture hall at the Alice Salomon University of Applied Sciences in Berlin, advocating for Palestinian rights. The occupation took place in the Audimax, known as the "Hind Rajab Hall," where participants displayed banners with the slogan "Free Palestine." The protesters accuse the university of failing to create safe spaces for BIPOC students and allowing racist professors to teach. This demonstration echoes previous protests in Berlin, particularly those linked to the conflict in Gaza.

Around 40 to 50 individuals are involved in this peaceful protest, and the university's administration is seeking dialogue with them. No damages have been reported, and authorities have not filed any charges. The protest, believed to be organized by a university group opposing Israeli military actions in Gaza, seeks to foster discourse around these issues. Despite criticisms of political and financial support for Israel, as well as a lack of protection for minorities, the university under its current leadership has chosen not to pursue legal actions, opting instead for conversation with the demonstrators.
