Nevertheless, passenger numbers have surged past pre-crisis levels, reaching a record 825 million in 2024. The introduction of the Germany ticket has significantly increased app usage and subscription numbers, which have risen to 600,000. Future plans include the conversion to electronic signal boxes to streamline operations and the successful completion of the Riedbahn renovation.

Upcoming projects, such as the renovation of major corridors scheduled for 2026, indicate a commitment to enhancing transportation infrastructure. While issues with hydrogen trains persist, the RMV is determined to overcome these obstacles and improve reliability for commuters.
