An emergency level 7 was declared following a chlorine leak at Hotel Floralpina on the Seiser Alm. The incident, caused by a pump malfunction, resulted in chlorine vapors affecting hotel staff.

Fire departments swiftly responded by implementing overpressure ventilation and diluting the chlorine with water, ensuring the safety of guests who were not evacuated. Multiple fire brigades, including local voluntary teams and the professional fire department from Bozen, collaborated in the operation, with decontamination efforts led by the Auer fire department.

This region has previously faced challenges with fires and mass poisoning incidents, raising concerns about safety protocols.
