End of an Era for Löwensenf Production

After over a century in Düsseldorf, Löwensenf's production is moving to Thuringia. Develey, the Bavarian owner of this iconic mustard brand, has decided to relocate manufacturing to the advanced facilities of Born Senf & Feinkost GmbH in Erfurt.

This transition, marked by the recent production volume of 6,000 tons annually, signifies a significant shift for the brand that was founded in 1920 by Otto and Frieda Frenzel. The decision aims to provide Löwensenf with a sustainable future as it bids farewell to its long-standing roots.

The move follows Develey’s acquisition of Löwensenf in 2001, and it reflects a broader strategy to enhance production capabilities. As the brand prepares for this new chapter, it underscores the importance of innovation while honoring its rich heritage.
