Edeka and Marktkauf have issued a recall for organic tahini sesame paste due to salmonella contamination. The affected jars, produced by HMF Food Production, have a minimum shelf life date of December 10, 2026. Sold nationwide, customers can return the product without a receipt.

Salmonella poses serious health risks, potentially causing flu-like symptoms such as fever, headaches, and diarrhea. Vulnerable groups, including pregnant women, young children, and those with weakened immune systems, are particularly at risk.

Consumers are urged to check their pantries and return any affected products to ensure safety.
