Widespread Strikes Disrupt German Airports and Public Services

The Verdi union has initiated significant warning strikes across Germany, impacting airports, local transportation, and municipal services. This industrial action aims to secure an 8% salary increase and better working conditions for public sector employees. The strikes have caused severe disruptions, notably at major airports, leading to the cancellation of thousands of flights and affecting hundreds of thousands of passengers.
