Minimal Adjustments in Berlin Election Results Confirmed
The recent federal election in Berlin underwent a review by the Berlin State Electoral Committee, revealing only minor corrections mainly due to recording or transmission errors. State electoral officer Stephan Bröchler noted these discrepancies were minimal, with the Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance (BSW) gaining a slight increase of a tenth of one percent.
In Saarbrücken, the CDU maintained the highest vote share at 26.9%, with the results showing little deviation from election night. Meanwhile, Cornelia Nesch, the state election supervisor, confirmed the final results in the southwest, where the CDU led with 31.6% and the AfD secured 19.8%, marking it as the second strongest party.
Voter turnout was notably high at 83.4%, with only slight variations in the counts of valid and invalid votes. In Potsdam, the AfD saw a low rate of vote splitting, while many candidates like Marco Schulz gained significant first-choice votes.
The BSW has initiated constitutional complaints and requested a recount, falling just short of the five-percent threshold needed for Bundestag representation. The Federal Electoral Committee is set to announce the official final result soon.
