Tragic Endings in Santa Fe

The recent deaths of Gene Hackman and his wife, Betsy Arakawa, have drawn attention to a heartbreaking aspect of their story. Found in their Santa Fe home, Betsy succumbed to hantavirus while Gene faced heart disease and Alzheimer's.

Alongside this tragedy, their dog Zinna, a Kelpie mix, was discovered deceased, suffering from severe dehydration and starvation, mere meters from Betsy's body. Two other dogs, Bear and Nikita, managed to survive.

Autopsy results confirmed that Zinna's stomach was nearly empty, indicating a dire lack of sustenance. Investigators have identified the couple's deaths as natural causes.
