The meeting was a joint initiative of French President Emmanuel Macron and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, aiming for a united European and NATO response to the broader geopolitical challenges. While the U.S. was notably absent, ongoing dialogues with Russia and Ukraine for a temporary pause in attacks on energy infrastructure were mentioned.
