April 2023 in Germany was marked by extraordinary warmth and dryness. Average temperatures soared 3.1 degrees above historical norms, with peak readings surpassing 25 degrees Celsius.

Precipitation levels fell to only 50-70% of usual amounts, particularly affecting the northeast and Upper Bavaria, resulting in one of the driest months since 1931. Sunshine duration also exceeded averages by 56%, making this April one of the warmest on record since 1881.
