Significant Wage Growth in Health Professions

In the past decade, employees in health and nursing professions have seen substantial wage increases. As of April 2024, full-time workers in this sector earned an average of 4,048 euros gross, up by 1,219 euros from 2014. This growth is notably attributed to the introduction and development of the statutory minimum wage since 2015. Health professionals, especially in elder care and nursing, benefited the most, with wages rising significantly more than in other industries.

For instance, elder care specialists earned an average of 4,228 euros, marking a 1,612-euro increase over ten years. Overall, the wage growth in health professions outpaced many other fields, reflecting both demand and policy changes.
