Recent police operations in
Germany have unveiled significant illegal cannabis cultivation and drug trafficking networks. In North Rhine-Westphalia, authorities discovered a professional cannabis plantation containing hundreds of plants within a residential property. Moreover, a former quarry in Altena turned out to be the site of another substantial illegal cannabis operation, with approximately a thousand plants found. This site recently came under municipal ownership, raising concerns about the previous activities that may have occurred there.
In a more alarming situation, three cannabis plantations with around 4,000 plants were located in vacant buildings in Bad Lauterberg, including one strategically placed in a pedestrian zone. Following a failed theft attempt, five suspects were apprehended, with some found in possession of firearms, indicating the potential for violence associated with these drug operations. In Schwaben, police dismantled a drug trafficking ring linked to a broader network distributing cocaine, cannabis, and THC syrup. Seven individuals were arrested, including a 22-year-old believed to be the mastermind behind the operation. The authorities confiscated large quantities of drugs, cash, and other evidence, underscoring the extensive scale of drug trade in the region.
