A series of alarming arson incidents has recently come to light, highlighting a troubling trend of deliberate fire-setting across various locations. In Königswartha, unknown individuals ignited a doll's pram in the hallway of a multi-family house. This act quickly escalated, filling the building with smoke and rendering it uninhabitable. Fortunately, all residents were evacuated without injury, though the financial repercussions are significant, estimated at 50,000 euros. Law enforcement is actively investigating the case as suspected arson.
In a separate incident, a massive fire devastated a warehouse on a farm in Rotenburg (Wümme), causing approximately 1.3 million euros in damages. The fire engulfed a 1,500 square meter barn, filled with combustible materials, creating a large visible smoke cloud. Thankfully, no injuries were reported, and preliminary investigations found no evidence of intentional foul play.
