Initial investigations suggest a technical failure in a dishwasher may have sparked the blaze. In a separate event in Kottenheim, a massive fire broke out in a commercial building due to exploding gas bottles, leading to a complete destruction of the structure and potential million-euro damages.

Despite the scale of the disaster, all personnel remained unharmed. Authorities are currently investigating the causes of both fires to prevent future occurrences.
