Severe Storms Cause Major Disruptions Across Central and Southern Germany

Central and southern Germany recently experienced severe storms, resulting in extensive damage and emergency responses. Heavy rain, hail, and strong gusts of wind swept through regions including Bavaria, Hesse, and Baden-Württemberg, causing trees to fall and streets and basements to flood.

In Nuremberg, emergency services were inundated with calls, undertaking nearly 100 operations to manage the aftermath. One hospital suffered water damage, though no injuries were reported across the incidents.

In Mannheim, a tree fell onto a moving streetcar, yet fortunately, no one was hurt. The storms also disrupted rail services, particularly affecting the route between Zwingenberg and Mosbach-Neckarelz, which had to be closed temporarily.

Over 500 emergency personnel were actively involved in addressing the consequences of these weather events across the affected areas. The dedication of the fire departments to rapidly respond ensured that despite the vast property damage, there were no casualties reported.
