Ukraine receives first F-16 fighter jets from NATO allies
Ukraine has received its first batch of F-16 fighter jets from Western countries, meeting the deadline set for the end of July. However, it is unclear whether these jets are ready for combat.
Denmark and the Netherlands will provide around 60 F-16s to Ukraine, with Norway and Belgium committing to deliver an additional 40. President Zelenskyy has repeatedly stated that the number of F-16s Ukraine is receiving is insufficient.
Russia's energy company, FORES, has offered a $170,000 reward for the first person to shoot down a Ukrainian F-16. Many experts and Western officials doubt the effectiveness of the F-16s in aiding Ukraine, as their forces are operating outdated aircraft inherited from the Soviet Union, many of which have been destroyed or shot down by Russia.
