US President Joe Biden has expressed deep concern over the escalating tensions in the Middle East, particularly in the wake of the killings of Hamas and Hezbollah leaders. Biden called for a swift agreement between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Hamas on a ceasefire in Gaza.

He also emphasized the US commitment to defending Israel's security against threats from Iran and its proxy groups. The leader of Hezbollah has vowed revenge after the assassinations, signaling a new phase in the conflict with Israel.

Qatar held funeral ceremonies for Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, who resided in Doha with other Hamas members. The Israeli military confirmed the killing of Hamas military chief Mohammed Deif in an airstrike in Gaza.

Israel has warned of strong retaliation in response to any attacks. Lufthansa Group has canceled all flights to and from Tel Aviv until August 8 due to the situation.

The Palestinian death toll in the Israeli offensive on Gaza continues to rise, with thousands injured and many still missing. China hopes for the creation of an independent Palestinian state, while Iranian officials discuss potential retaliation against Israel.

Turkey has blocked cooperation between NATO and Israel, demanding an end to the conflict. Al Jazeera strongly denies Israel's claim that one of its correspondents killed in an Israeli strike was a Hamas operative.

The US is deploying additional military resources to the Middle East to protect US troops and Israel.
