Taco Bell's Expansion of AI Ordering at Drive-Thrus
Taco Bell's parent company Yum! Brands is rolling out AI-driven drive-thru ordering to numerous locations. This innovative platform uses customer voice inputs and aims to enhance efficiency.
The new Taco Bell Defy concept, boasting a four-lane drive-thru and digital check-in screens, accelerates order processing. Spearheaded by Joe Park, Taco Bell's chief digital and technology officer, the broader adoption of AI ordering underscores a shift towards automation.
Concurrently, KFC is piloting AI drive-thru systems in select Australian outlets. Notably, Wendy's and White Castle have also embraced AI technologies in their drive-thru operations, while McDonald's recently discontinued its AI drive-thru test with IBM due to challenges.
