Israeli Air Strikes Kill 7 in Syria

Israeli air strikes on army positions in Syria resulted in the deaths of seven people, including three civilians. The attacks targeted locations with pro-Iranian groups, weapons experts, and a scientific research center.

The Syrian air defense intercepted some of the missiles. Since the start of the Syrian civil war in 2011, Israel has carried out hundreds of airstrikes in Syria, with the number increasing since the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7. Israel rarely comments on its attacks but emphasizes its opposition to Iran's presence in Syria.

In a separate incident, Israeli forces also killed members of the Palestinian organization Islamic Jihad in a strike near the Lebanon border. Reports suggest that negotiations for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas have made little progress, while the UN Human Rights Council plans to discuss Hamas terrorism and conditions in the Gaza Strip after Israeli military operations.
