Celebrating Excellence in Early Childhood Education

The prestigious German Kindergarten Award 2024 has been bestowed upon Kita Regenbogenland in Saxony and the Alliance Dortmund North City in North Rhine-Westphalia. Each recipient receives a prize of 25,000 euros, acknowledging their exceptional contributions to early childhood education. Federal Minister for Family Affairs Lisa Paus commended the winners for their dedication and innovative approaches during the award ceremony.

The prize, initiated by the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs and the German Children and Youth Foundation, aims to enhance the quality of early education. Kita Regenbogenland impressed the jury with its inclusive practices and support for families, providing services like speech and occupational therapy. Meanwhile, the Alliance Dortmund North City has been recognized for enabling educational and cultural opportunities in a challenging urban area.

These awards, given annually since 2018, highlight the importance of fostering quality educational environments for young children. The prize money will support further projects, with Kita Regenbogenland planning to build a zoo, while the Alliance intends to produce family-centered films. These initiatives exemplify the award's mission to promote exemplary standards in early childhood education across Germany.
